This core course includes Jecheon's rising hotspots such as Biryongdam Reservoir and Baeron Holy Ground, the cradle of Catholicism in Korea. On a good day, it is highly recommended to experience the cruise at Cheongpung-naru on Chungju Lake.

  • 1. Biryongdam Reservoir

    The Biryongdam Reservoir has become a new hot spot for people of all ages. It became famous on social media due to the reflection of the castle-like structure in the lake. It's perfect for about an hour of trekking around the reservoir.

  • 2. Baeron Holy Ground

    Named 'Baeron' because the valley resembles the bottom of a boat, this site is a holy place for the Roman Catholic Church in Korea. Baeron Holy Ground is one of the sacred sites that helps you understand the history of Catholicism in Korea. Baeron Seminary, Korea’s first modern educational institution, was located at Baeron Holy Ground.

  • 3. Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex

    The Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex is a small folk village created by relocating the traces of residents whose homes were submerged due to the construction of the Chungju Dam. It has various cultural assets and artifacts from the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties that help you to understand the impressive lives of the people who lived in the area that is now Cheongpung Lake.

  • 4. Chungju Lake Cruise Cheongpung-naru

    If you are cruising on Cheongpung Lake, the ship will dock at Cheongpung-naru. The pier was established in 1984. Cruising leisurely on Cheongpung Lake makes it a beloved destination among travelers.
